An Event Apart is not your father’s web design conference. It is a concentrated learning session featuring industry leaders and visionaries, with take-aways you can’t take away from other shows. Other events assume the narrowest of interests, forcing attendees to choose between “design” and “development” or other specialty tracks. An Event Apart is for the hybrid designer/developer whose skills are unique to the web. Thus, at An Event Apart, there is only one track. Everyone sits in the same room, learning the same things, at the same time.

Who attends An Event Apart? Just what kind of people are you? A little under half of you call yourselves “designers.” An equal number prefer “developers.” IAs, UX pros, project managers, writer/editors, marketers, and, yes, clients attend as well.

What unites you despite your differences is that AEA attendees are passionate practitioners: people who get up every day eager to create great user experiences online. You don’t just make websites, you make them better.

AEA attendees, like other conference attendees, want to improve job skills and make new friends and business connections in an intense and fun environment. But unlike ordinary conference goers, AEA attendees have that gleam in their eye that comes from a belief that quality matters—that through advocacy and hard work, each of us can make a meaningful difference.

Past Events

Maybe it isn’t healthy to dwell on the past, but some memories are just too good to let go.
